Bitcoiners are building the future that they desire, while "the smartest people around" look at the horizon.
Below is an excerpt from Marty's Benet Issue #1259: "Bitcoin action." It will be difficult to stop the accumulation of momentum. Register for the newsletter.
Today I listened to the Macro Voices podcast featuring Brent Johnson, Santiago Capital. It was a great conversation about the state and future of the global economy. I was particularly interested in the dollar's relative strength compared to other currencies. For those who are interested, here's the link to the episode.
Without saying anything explicit, Erik (the host), and Brent make it clear that the global markets are in fact dependent on a select few central bankers out of billions of people who live on the planet. It is somewhat puzzling that the world depends on the obscure language of people who are disconnected from reality and don't suffer the consequences of what they do. That being said, I want to highlight the fact that Erik and Brent made a short detour to talk about the next global reserve currency. Both men acknowledged that it would be a cryptocurrency, likely produced by one or more governments. It will not be bitcoin.
Your Uncle Marty will find this hilarious. It's a funny line of thinking by a few people who seem to "get" the fact that the fiat currency system is doomed to failure, and its failure is being driven incompetent central planers. It is absurd to think that bad central planning by an incompetent group can be solved with better central planning via a new slate, such as a CBDC. It is even more funny that they declare that bitcoin will not be the dominant currency in the world and mock "bitcoin maximalists". Freaks, this is your advantage.
While the "smartest people in the room” look at the horizon, waiting to place their bets, the bitcoiners are actually out there building the future that they desire. The macro mensches can sit back and pontificate on what they believe will be brought to market. Bitcoiners will not stop bringing their distributed, censorship-resistant, sound money to the market. The bitcoin headstart is almost insurmountable. It's a step-function improvement over the existing monetary system in all aspects.
It is extremely rare and difficult to change.
It can be sent via the internet.
You can divide more granularly.
If used correctly, it is very difficult to stop someone from sending or receiving bitcoin.
It is becoming an integral part, and perhaps the most overlooked aspect, of the energy sector. Energy is a very important resource, as we are discovering. The most valuable asset on the planet. It is logistically and politically much more difficult to kill Bitcoin, which has become an indispensable resource for energy producers.
It is still early.
