The new Georgia facility will house up to 70,000 bitcoin mining rigs. It was acquired by renewable bitcoin mining company, Bitcoin Mining Company.
According to a press release, Bitcoin Magazine received from Mawson Infrastructure Group (Nasdaq : MIGI), CleanSpark Inc., a Bitcoin mining company, has reached an agreement to purchase a mine facility for $33 Million.
CleanSpark will see 1.4 extra hashes per second (EH/s), from the turnkey mining facility at Sandersville, Georgia before the end. The facility will produce 2.4 EH/s in total by early 2023. This could increase to 7 EH/s by 2023. The company aims to achieve 22 EH/s in all locations by 2023.
The Sandersville facility is capable of supporting up to 24,108 new mining rigs. The company will increase the hash rate when it expands the facility to 150 megawatts (MWs), by the end of next. It will be able to support 70,000 mining equipment once it is fully operational.
CleanSpark's chief executive Officer Zachary Bradford said, "We are delighted to welcome Mawson’s Sandersville site as well its operating teams into our CleanSpark family." "The site is impressive. It's well-managed by more than 20 dedicated professionals who took great pride in its design, development and maintenance.
CleanSpark will also purchase 6,648 bitcoin miners from Mawson, which is $9.48million or $17 per Terahash. The machines are currently operating at the newly acquired facility and provide 558 Terahashes per second (PH/s).
CleanSpark will temporarily host Mawson's mining operations while they transfer to CleanSpark. Mawson will be able to access 30 MW for up 180 days. CleanSpark will begin self-mining operations immediately after the transition is complete.
James Manning, Mawson CEO, stated that "we now intend to concentrate our attention on continuing development of our Pennsylvania- and Texas facilities where there is the opportunity for compelling returns of capital."
